Yurt information

Staying in your seven-meter Mongolian yurt, (or Ger), will be an enchanting and unique experience. Here's a detailed description of what you can expect during your stay:

Yurt Accommodation:
• The yurt is incredibly spacious inside, feeling even larger than it looks from the outside.
• It can comfortably sleep up to five guests, with a double bed and three single beds.
• It's conveniently located just 4 kilometers from town, which is a quick six-minute drive.
• Guests will have exclusive access to a private collection of eighty farm animals, offering a unique and immersive experience (see below)

Yurt Features:
• The yurt is set on a specially constructed raised and insulated wooden floor.
• Its walls and ceiling are fully insulated with thick camel hair, providing a cozy atmosphere in winter and a cool, airy feel in summer.
• The central roof ring has an insulated cap that can be opened to control ventilation.
• The yurt and the accompanying toilet building are designed to be wheelchair accessible and are disabled-friendly.
Interior of the Yurt:
• Inside the yurt, you'll find a single open space with a double bed, two separate single beds, and a single trundler bed.
• There are chairs, a sofa, a table, a cupboard, a fridge, and a blanket box for your convenience.
• Tea and coffee making facilities are provided.
• The yurt is fully insulated, including the walls, floor, and ceiling.

Toilet Building:
• The hexagonal toilet building is purpose-built and exclusive to yurt guests.
• It offers a private shower, toilet, and washbasin set into a beautiful macrocarpa bench.

Outdoor Amenities:
• Guests can share a fully-equipped outdoor barbecue shelter with House Truck guests.
• The shelter includes a gas barbecue, gas pizza oven, sink set on a macrocarpa workbench, and outdoor tables and seating.

Complimentary Services:
• Adult-sized bathroom robes are available for free use during your stay.
• Bed linen and towels are provided.
• Heating is available with two electric heaters and an electric blanket on the double bed.
• The yurt has 240V electrical supply, with room lighting, bedside lamps, NZ/AUS power points, and USB power sockets.

Additional Amenities:
• Gum boots (wellies) are provided in various adult and child sizes.
• Electricity in the yurt and its toilet building is included.
• Recycling bins are provided to support Kaikoura's recycling initiative.

Scenic Surroundings:
• The yurt is set in its private grassed area, offering a magnificent view of Mt. Fyffe, which is just 4 kilometers away.

. Continental Breakfast: Upgrade your stay to include breakfast @ $30 per-property-per-day + $5 per-person-per-day. We leave your breakfast items in your property, for you to prepare at a convenient time. We wash the dishes when you leave each day, and restock if necessary.
Unfortunately, we are not able to cater for dietary preferences, so there will be: wheat, gluten, flower based whole grain bread and a selection of breakfast cereals provided, along with standard: full-fat milk, butter, jam, tea, filter coffee, sugar, plus seasonal free range farm eggs and fruits. If you need alternative breakfast items, please bring some that are suitable.

Animal Experiences:
• Llama Trekking is available, but must be pre-booked.
• Guests can enjoy complimentary animal feeding tours at 8:15 am and 3:15 pm daily. Animal feed is included. Animals, include: llamas, pigs, alpacas, sheep, deer, chickens, ducks and collie dogs - about eighty animals.
