House Truck information

Staying in our unique House Truck (Gypsy Caravan) is a one-of-a-kind experience that you won't find anywhere else. This charming accommodation is built on a 1940's Bedford K series truck and was lovingly hand-crafted in New Zealand over an impressive eleven-year period from 2001 to 2012. While the truck itself cannot be driven, it offers a cozy and comfortable space for your stay. Here's what you can expect during your time in the House Truck:

Accommodation Features:

Sleeping Arrangements: The House Truck is designed to accommodate two guests, featuring a comfortable double bed located over the driver's cab.

Kitchen: In the center of the truck, you'll find a small but well-equipped kitchen. It includes a gas hob, oven/cooker, microwave, rice cooker, and a fridge, allowing you to prepare your own meals.

Lounge Area: The truck's small lounge area is equipped with a cozy wood-burning stove, a comfortable three-seat bench, a table, chair, and a 21" widescreen TV with a DVD/CD player. You're welcome to enjoy our extensive collection of over 700 DVD and Blu-Ray movies during your stay.

Toilet and Shower: On-board, there are separate rooms for the toilet and shower. The space between these rooms serves as an entrance corridor and secluded towel-down area after showering.

Heating: Heating is provided either by a small, super-efficient wood burner fire in the center of the truck (with free fire cones in winter) or two electric heaters. Hot water bottles are also available for added comfort.

Bed Linen, towels and toiletries are provided, so you don't need to worry about bringing your own.

Electricity and Gas: Your stay includes electricity and gas water heating for your convenience.

. Continental Breakfast: Upgrade your stay to include breakfast @ $30 per-property-per-day + $5 per-person-per-day. We leave your breakfast items in your property, for you to prepare at a convenient time. We wash the dishes when you leave each day, and restock if necessary.
Unfortunately, we are not able to cater for dietary preferences, so there will be: wheat, gluten, flower based whole grain bread and a selection of breakfast cereals provided, along with standard: full-fat milk, butter, jam, tea, filter coffee, sugar, plus seasonal free range farm eggs and fruits. If you need alternative breakfast items, please bring some that are suitable.
PLEASE BOOK IN ADVANCE.

Outdoor Amenities:

Private Grassed Area: The House Truck is set in its own private grassed area, offering a beautiful view of Mt Fyffe in the distance, just 4 km away.

Companion Outdoor Barbecue Shelter: Nearby, you'll find a purpose-built barbecue shelter that is shared with our Yurt guests. It includes a gas barbecue, gas oven and hob, sink, crockery/cutlery, and outdoor table and chairs. The shelter is adorned with historic artifacts for added ambiance.

Exclusive Animal Experiences:

. Farm Animals: As a guest, you'll have exclusive access to our private collection of approximately eighty farm animals, which is not open to the general public. Animal Feeding Sessions: Enjoy complimentary animal feeding sessions at 8:15am and 3:15pm every day during your stay. Animals include llamas, pigs, alpacas, sheep, deer, chickens, ducks and collie dogs.

. Llama Trekking: If you're interested, you can also pre-book llama trekking experiences for added adventure.
