Our Farmers Cottage is a charming rental property located just a 5-minute drive from Kaikoura town center, nestled in the open countryside on the outskirts of town. This cottage offers a perfect retreat for families or groups looking for a relaxing break while enjoying a blend of rustic charm and modern amenities.
Key Features:
• Bedrooms: The cottage features two bedrooms. The first bedroom can accommodate up to three guests and a baby in a cot. It includes a double bed with electric blankets, a single bed, and a travel cot. The second bedroom sleeps up to three guests with a double bottom bunk and a single top bunk.
• Self-Contained Kitchen: The fully equipped self-catering kitchen includes modern amenities such as a glass-top oven/cooker, microwave, rice cooker, electric fry pan, kettle, toaster, and a fridge/freezer. Guests also have access to an outdoor gas BBQ.
• Bathroom: The cottage has a shower room and a separate toilet. Adult-sized bathroom robes are available for guests to use.
• Entertainment: The spacious lounge offers a cozy atmosphere with an air conditioning unit and a wood burner fire. Guests can relax on comfortable leather sofas while enjoying a 42" widescreen plasma TV with digital Satellite TV service and a Blu-Ray/DVD/CD player. A vast movie collection of over 700 DVDs and Blu-Rays is available for guests to enjoy. Additionally, there's a cupboard filled with children's games.
• Heating and Cooling: The cottage provides various heating options, including a heat pump unit and a wood burner fire in the lounge. During winter, guests can use the free wood provided. An air conditioning unit in the lounge keeps the cottage cool in the summer. The cottage also features an HRV clean air system to maintain air quality.
. Continental Breakfast: Upgrade your stay to include breakfast @ $30 per-property-per-day + $5 per-person-per-day. We leave your breakfast items in your property, for you to prepare at a convenient time. We wash the dishes when you leave each day, and restock if necessary.
Unfortunately, we are not able to cater for dietary preferences, so there will be: wheat, gluten, flower based whole grain bread and a selection of breakfast cereals provided, along with standard: full-fat milk, butter, jam, tea, filter coffee, sugar, plus seasonal free range farm eggs and fruits. If you need alternative breakfast items, please bring some that are suitable.

• Outdoor Space: The cottage boasts a spacious outdoor area with ample seating and stunning views of Mount Fyffe. Children can enjoy outdoor activities with a playhouse, swings, an obstacle course area, trucks, and a tractor.
• Farm Animals: Guests have exclusive access to a private collection of farm animals, including llamas, pigs, alpacas, sheep, deer, chickens, and collie dogs. There are about eighty animals in total. Guests can attend complimentary animal feeding sessions at 8:15 am and 3:15 pm daily and are provided with complimentary animal feed.
• Additional Amenities: The property offers free wireless Wi-Fi broadband internet access, air conditioning, and a heat pump unit in the lounge. Bed linen and towels are provided and washed in eco-friendly detergent. Recycling bins are available to support Kaikoura's recycling efforts.
• Location: The cottage is conveniently located just a short drive from Kaikoura town center, Whale Watch, Dolphin Encounter, the supermarket, and the i-Site tourist information center. It offers the perfect balance of a peaceful countryside setting and proximity to town amenities.
